Rant: Agency of the Year? I think not…

April 3, 2009

Brand Republic announced yesterday that the organisers of the Dubai Lynx Awards have stripped FP7 Doha of its agency of the year award after finding numerous ads submitted were not approved by clients, including a Samsung ad featuring Jesus that damaged the company’s image.

The damning evidence can be found by clicking on the link below, to the blog of Bloganubis.

Evidence revealed...

It really goes to show how highly some agencies regard silverware. If the quality of your genuine work is of such a standard to warrant an award, surely the silver will come with it. Now in a desperate attempt to raise its profile and reputation, both have been shattered in a dramatic turn of events. Agencies in this current climate should be focussing on maintaining their current client relationships rather than thinking of outlandish ways to attract new ones.

Take note agency world.
