All Our Best Work

Creativity showcases on the web are increasing in popularity. And it hasn’t taken too long before the IPA has jumped aboard and provided am portal for its members to showcase their work to the masses. Allourbestwork.com uses colour-coded “dabbing” – yellow dabs indicate comment on a piece of work, blue dabs indicates a person who worked on the execution or at the responsible agency, and pink dabs indicate a positive mark for the profiled work or agency.

Its a great platform to see the very latest from the industry, but also the thinking and processes behind some of the most inventive and innovative ads to have broadcast this year. Some of my favourites include Walls ‘George Bush Two Best Bits’ and the ‘Drakes Fortune’ web spot by Agency Republic.

On reflection, a question to ponder. In todays fragile economic climate, how important is the use of creativity in advertising? Will consumers continue to be driven by funny ads, or ads featuring their favourite celebrities? Or will more and more adverts such as that by Kelloggs cornflakes, placing the emphasis on cost effectiveness, be appearing on our screens?
